Well one of my relative ate 4000 kcal a day on keto and lost 15 kg in 3 months!
Who TF is eating 3000 calories of anything
There are people who have lost 50 pounds and more in 6 months a balanced diet in a caloric deficit. Maybe when you eat keto, you don’t have to count calories just as those who eat nothing but fruits and vegetables because the caloric value is automatically lower. You are automatically in a caloric deficit. I agree with the gentleman!
I mean, how much meat, eggs and vegetables can you eat? It makes you full very fast.
There are 2 more complex factors at play with Keto though…
Keto cuts out the cravings from crap foods, you are less likely to snack.
Keto suppresses your appetite where you are satisfied with a correctly portioned meal, I found when I had a meal with pasta or bread I would be craving more and more with no natural reflex to know when I am done, on Keto I can eat a carefully portioned meal and move on without another thought of it, I think this is a huge part of why people find so much success on Keto.
Also my mental focus and resilience is much better without the carbs I am more active and less bogged down that I am naturally moving more without even trying.
Finally someone making some logical sense. I gained weight on carnivore, all these people saying calories don’t matter on carnivore are so full of shit
Thomas DeLauer talks about how he lost weight eating more calories on a keto diet. I don't count calories, but I believe I've done the same, Thomas does the calculations and is very science based though.
I agree, weight wouldn't change significantly. The noticable change comes from altered "body composition" not the number on the scales.
I will say this. When I started Keto I didn't count calories at all, and I ate till I was full every single time and I was eating 3 meals a day. I had a sit down job, didn't work out cause I thought it would be to hard with no carbs. Then in six months I lost 50 pounds. After that I tried including carbs in my diet and started counting calories and then I would always gain weight even with working out. I only lose weight when Im keto. Been doing it for 12 years now. Have cheated some times and always gained weight even on a small cheat. So I would always just turn the keto switch back on. Now my regular way of eating is Keto I'll treat my self every now and then but always go back to keto. Now I lost a total of 140 pounds. It's now a life style for me not a diet. Hope this helps someone else. God bless.
Yes, because insulin turns off.
Funny thing is, my calorie goal for maintenance is around 2300. When I eat keto I usually eat around 2500-3000 a day. I am a small female and I will lose about 3 pounds a week eating this way. However, if I just do basic calorie counting and eat around 1500 I only lose around a pound a week or so. Maybe I have metabolic resistance but I think my body just drops weight so much faster without carbs regardless of the amount of calories I am eating. I do not work out either. It is crazy!
Ever heard of insulin bro?
Your missing the part where the keto diet SUPPRESSES HUNGER.Thats something most other diets don't do.I can go more than 24 hours not eating and still not hungry.. so.please factor that in.
You’re wrong. That’s exactly the number of calories I was eating. Strict keto, no cheating, lost 90 lbs to 8% bf and transitioned back to balanced diet to increase muscle up 35 lbs still 9% and competed in male physique place 2
30% is lost throught heat with keto
Every single time, it's people just mistaking their actual calorie intake and unconsciously eating less
It's beyond calories.
you don't get uncontrollable cravings on Keto which helps you keep your calories lower
That's what you think 😅😅
The question is whether or not you can even eat 3000kcal on keto. If you count calories, you’ll find how difficult it is to eat 3000kcal of fat and protein without throwing up…
It’s even more improbable with Intermittent Fasting.
Don't bark anything. Just try it and show us proof
Generally speaking yes. For many obese people that likely have insulin resistance, the types of calories they are consuming will have a huge impact on their ability to lose fat.
Simply put: these folks would lose a lot more fat by eating 2k calories of quality fat and proteins vs 1700calories of Oreos.
the fact that the human body is one of the most of the most complex systems found in nature and there are so many non dietary inputs that affect body weight. Stress levels, poor sleep, inflammation are just some of the several factors that impact our fat levels.
Also, it is proven that if you keep at a sustained caloric deficit, your body starts to slow down in several unhealthy ways – hair loss, lessened body heat, brittle
nails, etc.
If you would have asked Attia 8years ago he would have said the complete opposite.
